Solar Installers – Why Choose Only Professional Installers

Solar installers are people who install solar panels and solar systems on the rooftops of commercial and residential buildings. Even in today’s green energy era, professionally trained solar installers or solar roof technicians are increasingly known and difficult to find. This is because they must have a combination of the two skills; They are conventional roofer, augmented by the knowledge of a solar electrician.

The market essentially consists of two different types of solar installations made today: retrofit and integrated. Renovation consists of installing one or more solar panels on an existing roof. Embedded is when solar panels are built into the roof of a new building.

When it comes to retrofitting solar panels, the skills of a solar specialist aren’t that important as it is not that difficult. In basic terms this simply means installing one or more panels on an existing roof and feeding the wires to the batteries through the roof. This can be done easily by a regular roofer who has an electrician do the wiring.

The disadvantage of retrofit solar panels are that they are bulky and as such more susceptible to elements: Wind, rain, snow, and what many people consider unsightly can actually reduce property value in some places. This is why integrated solar roofs are growing in popularity very rapidly. These types of panels are actually built into the roof so that the edges are approximately flush with the rest of the roof. That way, solar panels are less exposed to the harsher elements and are obviously more pleasing to the eye. However, it is still worth noting that there are solar panels on the roof.

In response to this problem, solar panel manufacturers invented the intelligent solar shingles. This very smart and highly sophisticated solar shingles consists of photovoltaic solar cells. Since these solar strips are similar in appearance, shape, size, and color as conventional asphalt probes. they will be virtually unnoticeable. This way the solar installer can convert the entire roof into one big solar panel and give it the appearance of a regular roof (well, even from a distance). With the growing popularity of this type of roof, the demand for qualified installers/roofers has also increased.

Solar panels and solar shingles differ in that the panels where the cells are already connected together, while shingles must be connected together in an array when mounted on a roof. This means that the shingles must be installed and wired together before the rest of the roof begins. This way, the wires from the shingle run along the roof ridge cap, providing protection and hiding from adverse weather conditions.

Because not many people have all the necessary skills, qualified and professional solar installers are commonly made today. That’s why reputable solar installation companies either take regular roofers and train them as solar engineers, or take technicians and train them in roofing skills.
